The New ‘proposed’ Beverley hospital site

Dear Mr Stuart,

I was very surprised to hear you are in full support of the Swinemoor Lane site for the new hospital. Could you give me your reasons for supporting the development on that site, as I am hearing a lot of opposition to its suitability from Beverley residents, a view I must agree with at the moment. While I am in full agreement that Beverley and the East riding should be provided with the best possible hospital, my concerns with this site are not only that it will increase traffic congestion to Swinemoor Lane, Hull Bridge Road and to Norwood, but the site’s proximity to the river and its height above sea level. In view of global warming, which will create higher river levels and higher water tables, to carry-out any sort of development on land were the water table is already high seems a very irresponsible to me, especially when alternatives were available.

I look forward to your comments.

Kind regards

Steve Booth, Beverley
