You don’t have the support you say, Mr Stuart!

I have been listening to local radio KCFM’s  hourly news reports today- (July 29th), that the new hospital in Beverley has, this week, been given approval by the PCT. The report included a broadcast from Graham Stuart, MP,  sounding very pleased with himself for securing this ‘hospital’ (if that is what it is) on Swinemoor Lane, Beverley. Mr Stuart reported that he has substantial support from all across the East Riding of Yorkshire. I have lived in Tickton for over 30 years and I do not support it Mr Stuart!  Nor do I know anyone who does support it. The site is clearly wrong for several reasons and what is of even more concern to me, is that Mr Stuart does not appear to have any regard for the wishes of a large group of Swinemoor Estate residents and many in Hornsea, who he is also supposed to represent.  I suppose that he, like many of our East Riding of Yorkshire Councillors, does not have to, now he has been returned safely to power?

J. Cross – Tickton

NSH says: We agree with you Mr Cross. Mr Stuart may have some support for a new hospital in Beverley, but not on this site! Why is he not listening to those who voted against it on his own blog site or to the  Swinemoor residents?  If, as he tells us now, funding is not available to save, improve and update local hospitals, why can’t this hospital be built on the Ambulance Station site? It’s not too late and we believe it will be cheaper in the long term.
